Persistency Over Procrastination

There is a real spirit of procrastination that has hindered the faith of many believers in Western culture that seriously needs to be addressed. In the message below, Bishop David addresses the sense of persistency God’s people need to operate with in order to counteract the urge to procrastinate utilizing the parable of the Persistent Widow in the Gospel of Luke 18.

There are 6 points addressed in this message:

1). Don't forget about the Lord; forgetfulness breeds procrastination

2). Remember the social status of the Widow who suffered great loss and Jesus uses her as a demonstration to the disciples.

3). Jesus uses the parable of the Persistent Widow to teach his disciples a lesson on how they need to persist in the faith and never give up.

4). Believers need to be even more persistent regarding the things of the faith like they are persistent with other things of life.

5). If an unjust judge will grant justice to a persistent widow because of her constant pleas, how much more will our Father in heaven grant us justice, hear our prayers, and answer them according to His will.

6). Examine the content of your prayers. Ask the question, “What are we really praying for?” “Are your prayers consistent with some of the prayers recorded in Scripture?”

The Word of God and these points highlighted in the message are key in overcoming procrastination by being persistent in faith, in prayer, in Word, in deed, in speech, in following Jesus, and in pursuit of our relationship with God.
